The opening of the summer season will be on
SATURDAY JUNE 17TH, 2023
The invitation is real: the Saussurea Botanical Garden reopens to the public
on June 17th and will be open every day until September 17th.
To get there, just get off at the first station of Skyway Monte Bianco, at the Pavillon du Mont Fréty: this is where the Garden welcomes us. We are at an altitude of 2,175 meters, a resting point between the valley and the sky, where over 900 specimens of mountain life coexist, small wonders of the Alps and other mountain chains. A variety that would be impossible to encounter in nature in an area of 6,500 square meters, where the Saussurea Botanical Garden develops. A peculiar name, right?
It is that of a very rare plant that grows in rocky pastures. It’s called Saussurea alpina and takes its name from Horace Bénédict de Saussure, the first to propose the ascent to the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc. It was 1786: since then we have continued to move in the same way, loving the mountains in their infinite greatness and observing them up close with curiosity, to discern their secrets in the infinitely small.
Stop. Lower yourself. Discover the wonder of the infinitely small.
