Where the Mountain Becomes a Garden

The Saussurea Botanical Garden reopens on June 20.

At the foot of Mont Blanc, over 900 botanical species return to color the high altitudes. The Saussurea Botanical Garden will welcome visitors, families, and hikers to one of the most evocative places in the Alps, where nature awakens after the long winter and transforms the mountain into a spectacle of shapes, scents, and colors.

For many, the mountain is rock, snow, and silence. Yet, at the foot of Mont Blanc, there is a place capable of telling a different story.

From June 20, with the arrival of summer, the Saussurea Botanical Garden bursts back into color after the long Alpine winter. Here, where the landscape appears motionless for months, nature awakens, giving life to an extraordinary bloom that transforms the high altitude into a mosaic of shapes, scents, and colors.

Over 900 botanical species coexist in this unique corner of the Alps, creating a spectacle that surprises at every step. From tiny flowers blooming among the rocks to the rarest and most delicate varieties, every flower tells a story of adaptation, resilience, and beauty.

Strolling along the paths of the Saussurea Botanical Garden means changing your perspective. Your gaze rises toward the great peaks of Mont Blanc, but is continually drawn back down, where life manifests in the most unexpected details.

It is an invitation to slow down, observe, and be amazed by a world often invisible to those who cross the mountain too quickly.

In an era where nature seems increasingly distant, wonder, knowledge, and respect for the environment meet here. A place where the fragility of Alpine ecosystems is transformed into a message of conservation and territorial enhancement.

From June 20 to September 20, the Saussurea Botanical Garden will welcome visitors, families, and hikers, inviting them to experience a spectacle that lasts only a few weeks but leaves a memory destined to endure.

Throughout July and August, the Garden will host educational workshops dedicated to the botanical and natural world, designed to engage adults and children in activities of discovery, observation, and knowledge of the Alpine environment, fostering a greater awareness of the richness and fragility of high-altitude ecosystems.

For all Skyway Monte Bianco ticket holders, entry to the garden will be free upon presentation of the ticket at the entrance chalet.
